With Southern Africa experiencing one of its wettest Summers, if not the wettest ever recorded, it seems as we have finally received a reprieve from further rainfall and that there will no longer be construction days lost due to overly wet conditions.
April is filled with many religious days celebrated by communities of different faiths across the globe. South Africans also celebrate Freedom and Workers Day on the 27th of April and the 1st of May respectively. It is however a sad statistic that up to 35% of the South African workforce will be celebrating this year's Workers' Day, unemployed. Less restrictive labour laws enabling greater job creation should be prioritized by Government and not social grants.
FEATURED RESIDENTIAL PROPERTIES
With the looming 1 July occupation date at our Featherstone development in Craighall, the pressure has now shifted to the artisans in charge of finishing the 30 stylish apartments. The coming weeks will be crucial to have the homes ready on time to welcome their respective new owners. We are currently running a special promotion at Featherstone where purchasers will be exempted from paying the first year's levy after registration. Four Brendavere Estate homes were also completed by the end of last month. As mentioned in my previous newsletter, we will have an extremely busy two months ahead of us as there are no less than 16 homes earmarked for completion. That equates to almost 20% of the entire project being completed! With sales being concluded on a regular basis, we have just surpassed the 72% Sold Out mark which bodes well for our plans to have the development completed and sold out by the end of this year.
Construction is also well underway at both our Welverdiend and Mooi Land projects within the de Land Estate in Potchefstroom. We have ensured that all the relevant contractors are there in full force to meet the stringent deadlines ahead of us.
